Who are legacy users? They are existing subscribers who joined Helium Mobile before February 4, 2025 and are using either the $5 Beta Plan or $20 Unlimited Plan.
I already have a Helium Mobile plan. What does this mean for me?
If you already have a Helium Mobile plan ($5/mo. Unlimited, $20/mo. Unlimited or an Unlimited Annual plan), your plan, price, unlimited data (Tethering is limited to 5GB/month), texts, and calls will remain the same.
Rewards:
With the implementation of HIP 148, Discovery Mapping will no longer be available after November 9th, 2025.
Referrals
All Legacy Subscribers will continue to earn credits for referrals.
If a legacy subscriber invites someone with their referral code, they will earn a $10 credit, while the referee will earn 500 ($10) Cloud Points.
Legacy subscribers will still follow the existing qualification formatting
Pending Referrals
A subscriber who signs up through a referral link or code, but does not have any activated SIMs and has not been signed up for at least 35 days, is considered a “pending” referral.
The number of “pending” referrals will be visible in the subscriber’s referral dashboard on the web and the app. If you're on the token referral program, you wont see this status anymore.
Qualified Referrals (What are the qualifications?)
Each subscriber's 'Referrals' dashboard will track 'Pending' and 'Qualified' referrals.
To be considered a 'qualified referral,' the following criteria must be met:
The referee must create a new Helium Mobile account using a current subscriber’s unique referral code.
The referee must activate the Helium Mobile Unlimited Phone Plan SIM.
The referee must be actively subscribed to Helium Mobile for 35 days.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, Helium Mobile reserves the right to deny any rewards under this program to any referrer or referee who Helium Mobile determines in its sole discretion has committed fraud, engaged in gaming behavior, or otherwise violated the various terms and conditions available at hellohelium.com. See section 13 of Helium Mobile Terms & Conditions.
Group Plans
You can create a new Group and add members, although legacy plans are unable join a Group as a member.
Is my plan changing?
If you already have a Helium Mobile plan ($5/mo Unlimited or $20/mo unlimited), your plan, price, unlimited data, texts, and calls remain the same.
Do I need to take any action?
Nope! No action is necessary.
Can I switch to one of the new plans if I want?
Yes, with app version 3.15.1 you can upgrade your $5 Beta or $20 Unlimited plan to Zero, Air, or Infinity by logging in and tapping the Upgrade Plan Today button at the top.
*Note that once you change to a new plan, you will not be able to revert back to a legacy plan.
Is there a special offer if I switch to a new plan?
Yes, currently legacy plan subscribers who upgrade to Zero, Air, or Infinity Plans in their app are eligible for an exclusive offer.
Legacy subscribers who upgrade to Air of Infinity Plans receive 50% off the price of their new plan for 12 months, plus receive 2,500 ($50) in Cloud Points
Legacy subscribers who upgrade to Zero receive the Unlimited Talk and Text add-on for free for 12 months, plus 500 ($10) in Cloud Points.
This offer only applies to subscribers with an active legacy plan. Cancelled accounts may reactivate onto Zero, Air, or Infinity Plans but are not eligible for the promotion.
*Note that once you change to a new plan, you will not be able to revert back to a legacy plan.
How do referrals work currently?
See our Refer-a-Friend FAQ for the most up to date information on our current referral program.
What are Cloud Points?
New subscribers of the Zero*, Air, and Infinity plans earn Cloud Points for sharing their location data, referring friends to sign up, porting their phone number, and more. Coming soon, Cloud Points can be redeemed in the Cloud Store for gift cards to the movies, restaurants, ride shares, cool merch, or to purchase add-ons like international roaming.
*The Zero Plan requires regular cellular data usage each billing cycle
Will I still earn crypto for mapping?
With the implementation of HIP 148, Discovery Mapping is no longer available after November 9, 2025.
Is crypto going away?
Even though Cloud Points themselves are not cryptocurrency, crypto is the engine that enables Cloud Points to work. As a Service Provider on the Helium Network, Service Provider Rewards are delegated to Helium Mobile and are used for the Cloud Points ecosystem. This allows subscribers to reap the benefits without having to do the heavy lifting of participating in the crypto ecosystem.
Hotspots continue to earn HNT as before.
