When you create a Helium Mobile account, you will be asked to verify your identity to ensure your account remains secure. We do this for your safety and for the safety of our community.

Our Identity verification process will require the following:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Date of Birth

  • Address

Once these pass the verification, you're all set to proceed through the account creation steps!

If the verification doesn't pass for any reason, you'll be asked to provide a few additional pieces of information:

  • Government Identification

  • Selfie Verification

Identity Verification is required to sign up for Helium Mobile.

Why do I need to verify my identity when I sign up for Helium Mobile?

Identification verification keeps Helium Mobile safe for new and future subscribers. It helps us to ensure that every person that signs up for an account is who they say they are, and that personal information cannot be misappropriated for malicious purposes.


Where is my identification information stored during sign up?

Helium Mobile utilizes a third-party identity verification service called Persona. Persona is a GDPR and CCPA compliant security system. For information on how your data is used and stored, please read Persona’s Privacy Policy.

Helium Mobile does not store your date of birth, government ID, or selfie verification records that you provide during identity verification.


Can I use my identity to sign up my group/family member?

No. The identity of the account or sub-account holder must be the same identity used for identity verification during sign-up.


Can I use my identification information to sign up for multiple accounts?

Yes, however, Helium Mobile reserves the right to review and suspend accounts based on suspicious activity. Please review our terms and conditions for more information.


Can I request to delete this information when I cancel my account?

Canceled subscribers can request to delete their account from the Helium Mobile App. Deleting your account deletes your account-related data except that which we are required by law to preserve. Deleting your account will also result in your identity verification data being redacted from Persona as well.

To delete your account from your Helium Mobile App, go to the “Settings” tab and select “Delete Account”.


I’m running into an error trying to verify my identity. Who do I contact?

Helium Mobile utilizes a third-party identity verification service called Persona. To troubleshoot any part of the identity verification process, please read Persona’s Troubleshooting Guide. For additional questions, contact [email protected].


How is my identification information used?

Our identification verification partner Persona uses your information solely for identification verification purposes. Please review their Privacy Policy for more information.


How long is this information stored?

To better protect your account, this information needs to be stored as long as you remain a Helium Mobile subscriber. You can request this information be deleted if you cancel your subscription.

Biometric data (selfie and government ID verification) is automatically deleted after 3 years.


I received an error saying "We couldn't create your subscription". What do i do?

Helium Mobile checks the legitimacy of your identity and your payment information. If you have received this message, please verify that your provided details are correct.
Ensure that the payment information you have provided is accurate and legitimate before trying again.
