Choosing your SIM

Helium Mobile allows you to choose your preferred SIM type! To help you make the best choice, we recommend a SIM based on your device.

Once you’ve subscribed to Helium Mobile, it’s time to get connected and choose a SIM. Before you begin, download the Helium Mobile App on iOS or Android and log into your account.

*While we always recommend running the latest OS on your device, the oldest compatible versions for the app are Android 11 and iOS 14.

1. Enter your IMEI

Before choosing your SIM, please ensure that your device is unlocked (required).

To select the best SIM type for your device, we’ll need your device's IMEI number. An IMEI is the International Mobile Equipment Identity. It is your device’s unique code that allows us to identify it.

Where do I find my IMEI?

For all devices:

  • Dial *#06# on your phone’s keypad.

  • The IMEI number of your current device will be displayed.


  • Go to Settings > General and tap About.

  • Scroll down to find the IMEI (you can long-press on it to copy it to easily paste it into the app).


  • Go to the Settings app.

  • Scroll down and select "About Phone." Scroll down to find your IMEI (you can long-press on it to copy it to easily paste it into the app).

2. Select your SIM

Almost done! Using your IMEI, we’ll recommend the best SIM type for your device. If there are no recommendations, please verify your device’s eSIM compatibility prior to choosing your SIM type. If unsure, it's generally safe to select “Helium Mobile SIM Card”.

There are 3 options you can choose from:

  1. Helium Mobile eSIM. An electronic SIM that can be activated and installed immediately from your account.

  2. Helium Mobile SIM Card. A physical SIM card that can be inserted into your device. Your SIM card will take 3-5 days to deliver. If you select this option, we'll need you to:

    1. Confirm your shipping address. Please confirm and update your shipping address.

    2. Confirm order. Tapping “Confirm order” will place your SIM card order. Once placed, you will receive an email confirmation.

  3. “I already have a SIM Card”. If you’ve already received a physical Helium Mobile SIM card, then there’s no need to wait! Select this option to continue to your account and activate your SIM.

3. Activate and Install your SIM

Now that you've made your choice, you're ready to activate your SIM.
