Changes to the Zero Plan

We have made the difficult decision to end the Zero Plan on June 11, 2026. All subscribers on Zero Plan will be transitioned to the Helium Mobile Air Plan unless action is taken prior to that date.

On June 11th, 2026 all subscribers on Zero Plan will be transitioned to the Helium Mobile Air Plan ($15/mo) unless action is taken prior to that date.

The Zero Plan gave thousands of people free wireless service and helped build the fastest-growing, people-powered wireless network in the US. While we were able to offer this plan for a while, it's not sustainable long term. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined and gave us a chance. By focusing on our paid plans, we can invest in a better experience and stronger coverage for subscribers.

What is going to happen to my plan?

As of June 11th, 2026, we are retiring the Zero Plan for all subscribers. Any subscribers who are still on Zero by that date will be automatically switched to the Air Plan for a prorated amount.

The Air Plan is $15/mo and offers 10GB of high-speed data and unlimited talk and text.


What action do I need to take?

Action is not required if you are happy to be switched to the Air Plan on June 11th.

If you would prefer to switch to the Infinity Plan, you can do so in the app.

If you would like to cancel your plan before being upgraded, you will need to do so before June 11th. This can be done directly in the Helium Mobile App by clicking the “Me” button in the top left corner of the home screen, toggling to the “Billing” tab, and selecting “Cancel Plan”.

If you want to transfer your phone number to another carrier, you can do so by selecting “Yes, Port My Number” when prompted. This will automatically generate the details needed to transfer your phone number to a new carrier.


The Air Plan doesn’t have the right amount of data for me. Can I pick a different plan?

Yes! You can choose Infinity Plan ($30/mo) anytime prior to your renewal date. If you forget to switch prior to June 11th, you can always change your plan after the fact.


I’m on a Group Plan. What does this mean for me?

Group admins can switch themselves and their individual group members from their admin account at any time. All Zero plan Group members will be automatically updated to Air on June 11th if no action is taken.


This change is not going to work for me. Can I cancel my plan?

If you do not wish to continue as a Helium Mobile subscriber due to this change, or for any other reason, you can cancel your plan without penalty and transfer your number to another carrier by going through the in-app cancellation flow.


What notice was sent out regarding this change?

On May 21st, 2026 we sent the following notice via email to active Zero plan subscribers:

We have some important news to share regarding your Zero Plan.

We've made the difficult decision to sunset the Zero Plan on June 11, 2026.

By focusing on our paid plans, we can invest in a better experience and stronger coverage for subscribers.

If you take no action, you'll be automatically upgraded to the $15/month Air Plan on June 11.


What This Means for You

You can upgrade to the Air Plan ($15/mo) or Infinity Plan ($30/mo) on your own through the Helium Mobile App anytime before June 11.

If you choose to leave Helium Mobile, you can cancel your plan and transfer your number to another carrier by going through the in-app cancellation flow.


We’ve Made It Easy to Stay Connected

Option 1: Stay on Helium Mobile.

Upgrade to the Air or Infinity Plan inside the Helium Mobile App.

  • Air — $15/mo for 10GB data, unlimited texts and calls.

  • Infinity — $30/mo for unlimited data, texts, and calls.

Option 2: Cancel or switch carriers.

In the Helium Mobile App, go to 'Billing' > 'Cancel Plan.'

If you wish to keep your phone number, select 'Yes, Port My Number,' and we'll instantly provide the details you will need to transfer your phone number to a new carrier. Porting is free.

If you take no action before June 11, you'll be automatically upgraded to the Air Plan ($15/mo). You can cancel your plan at any time within the App.
