Updated over a month ago

The following questions and answers relate to those on the $5 Beta and $20 Unlimited plans.

What happens to mapping rewards now?

Helium Mobile phone plan subscribers on the $5 Beta and $20 Unlimited plans will no longer earn rewards for Discovery Mapping. This change is scheduled to be finalized in early November.

How does this affect Hotspots?

Hotspots still earn HNT! No changes here.

Can I keep my $5/month or $20/month Helium Mobile Plan?

Yes! You can keep your existing plan. Your plan, price, unlimited data, texts, and calls remain the same.

How do I earn Cloud Points?

To earn Cloud Points, you’ll need to upgrade to the Zero, Air, or Infinity plans.

How do I upgrade to a Zero, Air, or Infinity Plan?

You can upgrade directly in your Helium Mobile app. Make sure you have updated your app to the latest version (3.15.1).

What happens to my crypto payments on my phone plan?

If you already pre-paid with crypto, you will receive a credit on your account for your remaining balance when you upgrade your plan to the Zero, Air, or Infinity plans.

If you remain on your existing plan, it will continue to apply to your bill. If you haven’t already, please add a credit or debit card to your account to ensure your plan stays active once your remaining pay with crypto credit is depleted.

What happens to the crypto in my Helium Mobile Wallet in the App?

If you have a crypto balance in your wallet, you will be able to access the wallet from the in-app settings menu when you upgrade to Zero, Air, or Infinity.

Can I change my plan once I upgrade to a new plan?

Once you upgrade to Zero, Air, or Infinity, you can change to any of the other new plans. You will not be able to switch back to a legacy $5 or $20 unlimited plan after you have upgraded, as those plans are no longer available for new signups.

Please note that you can only switch plans once every 60 days.

I’m on a Zero / Air / Infinity plan. How does this affect me?

This does not affect your plan.

What is Scam Defense?

Scam Defense is a new feature that is included for free on all Air and Infinity plans. You can decide if you want to block all calls identified as spam, or simply have them indicated as spam calls on caller ID. You can select your preference using the toggle in the in-app settings menu. Blocking spam calls is toggled on by default.
