What Is Scam Defense?
Scam Defense is included in the Sprout, Air, Air Kids, Infinity, and Infinity Kids. It’s now also available for Zero Plans as a $5/month add-on (available in App Version 4.2.0). Once purchased, Scam Defense works the same way across all plans, with the same features and controls.
If you’re on Sprout, Air, Air Kids, Infinity, and Infinity Kids plan, Scam Defense is already enabled. No action required!
What’s Included?
1. Scam Call Tagging
Suspicious numbers are automatically labeled “Scam Likely,” so you can decide whether to answer or ignore the call.
2. Callback Protection
If a number is likely a scam, you’ll hear an alert before the call connects:
“The number you have called has been identified as likely a scam. It’s recommended that you hang up now.”
Unless Scam Blocking is on, this message is just meant to be helpful. The call will not be blocked, and you may choose to end the call or continue.
3. Scam Blocking
Scam Blocking is automatically enabled. This means that we automatically block scam calls, so they never ring through.
Don't want to completely block scam calls? You can disable or enable Scam Blocking in "Settings" at anytime! When it's disabled, scam calls will only be labelled as "Scam Likely" and will still ring through.
How to Get Scam Defense on your Zero Plan
Update your App to Version 4.2.0.
Open the app and go to Add-Ons.
Locate Scam Defense and purchase for $5/month.
First purchase is prorated; subsequent charges recur on your renewal date. Taxes and fees apply.
Admins can purchase for group members by going to Manage > Group > Zero Plan Member > Scam Defense.

Once purchased, the same Scam Defense toggle in the app controls the feature.
Controlling Scam Defense in the App
Want to block scam calls completely or turn the feature off?
Make sure your app is version 3.15.1 or higher. If you’re on an older version of the app, update your app to see the toggle.
Go to Settings > Scam Blocking.
Use the toggle to turn Scam Blocking on or off. (You may only update this toggle every 12 hours)
