How to recycle your old phone with Helium Mobile

Helium Mobile will accept old phones for recycling from residents of California and New York. Helium Mobile will accept all phone models free of charge and will provide a

free shipping label.

Please note: This is not a purchase or a trade-in program. No compensation will be provided for the devices sent for recycling.

This program is limited to residents of California and New York, and no person may recycle more than 10 phones per year under this program.

Program Participant Requirements:

  1. Participant must be a resident of either California or New York; and

  2. Participant must ship the phone from an address in California or New York; and

  3. Participant has not sent 10 or more phones in the preceding twelve-month period.

How to send your old phone for recycling:

  1. Reach out to our Support Team via chat or [email protected] and let them know how many phones you would like to recycle.

  2. Our Support Team will send you an intake form which you will need to complete and return. You will be asked to provide the address in California or New York from which you will ship the phones, your contact details, and the weight and dimensions of the package.

  3. Once you have returned the intake form, you will receive a shipping label in your email within three business days.

  4. Before shipping, prepare your phone for recycling:

    • Remove the physical SIM from the phone (if applicable).

    • If your phone still turns on, reset your device to factory settings in order to remove all of your personal data.

  5. Print and affix the label and drop the package off at your local USPS store.

  6. Please be aware, Helium Mobile is not responsible for, and explicitly disclaims any liability arising out of, any personal or other data remaining on the recycled device. You are solely responsible for ensuring that all data and anything else you may want are removed from your device prior to recycling it. Once your device is sent for recycling, neither Helium Mobile nor the recycling partner has any ability whatsoever to recover or return the recycled device to you. Helium Mobile is not responsible for any lost or stolen devices.
