Managing Payment Methods

You can add multiple payment methods to your account and manage them anytime. This allows you to:

  • Select a default payment method for monthly billing.

  • Use your preferred payment method for add-ons and future purchases.

  • Remove outdated or unused payment methods.

All paid plans require a valid payment method and AutoPay enabled.

When you add or update a payment method, a temporary $1 authorization hold may appear on your account to verify the card. This hold is automatically removed within 5-7 business days.

How do I update my payment method?

You can update your payment method directly in the Helium Mobile app:

  1. Open the Helium Mobile app

  2. Tap your profile icon

  3. Select Billing

  4. Add, update, or choose a new default payment method

When does my billing cycle begin?

Your billing cycle starts on the day your service is activated and renews monthly on the same day.

Example: If your plan begins on March 15, it will renew on the 15th of each month.

If a month does not contain your renewal date, your bill will renew on the last day of that month.

Example: A subscription that starts on January 31 renews on February 28 (or February 29 during leap years), then March 31, April 30, and so on.

You can view your renewal date anytime in the app under Profile → Billing.

Note: Billing dates cannot currently be changed.

Annual plans renew one year from the original activation date.

Where can I view my invoices?

To view your billing history:

  1. Open the Helium Mobile app

  2. Go to Profile → Billing

  3. Select View Bill History

From there, you can review previous invoices and charges associated with your account.

How do I cancel my plan?

You can cancel your plan at any time through the Helium Mobile app.

How to cancel your service:

  1. Open the Helium Mobile app.

  2. Go to Profile.

  3. Select Billing.

  4. Tap Cancel Plan.

  5. Follow the prompts to confirm your cancellation.

When you cancel:

  • Service remains active through the end of your current billing cycle

  • Future recurring charges stop

  • No additional monthly service fees will be charged

What happens if my payment fails?

If a payment attempt is unsuccessful:

  • You will have a 3-day grace period to pay your bill

  • A reminder email will be sent when your payment is overdue

  • After 3 days, your service will be temporarily suspended

If you have multiple payment methods saved, we'll attempt to charge another saved payment method before suspending service.

Once payment is received, service can be restored. Your billing date will remain unchanged, and billing is not prorated during suspension.

You'll also receive notifications in the app and by email if a payment fails or if your payment method is approaching expiration.

What happens if my bill is overdue?

Accounts have a 3-day grace period after a missed payment.

If payment is not received during the grace period:

  • Service will be suspended

  • No reactivation fee applies

  • Your monthly billing date remains the same

Once payment is made, service can be restored.

My service was suspended. How long do I have before my account is deactivated?

If your service is suspended due to non-payment, you have until your next billing date to bring the account current.

If payment is not received before then, your account may be permanently deactivated. Once deactivated:

  • Your SIM can no longer be used

  • Your phone number may be released

  • Service cannot be guaranteed for recovery

Are there taxes and fees?

Yes. Taxes and regulatory fees are applied based on your service address and local requirements.

These may include:

  • FCC Regulatory Fee

  • Federal Universal Service Fund (USF)

  • E911 Fee

  • E988 Fee

  • State telecommunications fees

  • Local telecommunications fees

The fees listed above are common examples. Additional taxes, surcharges, and regulatory fees may apply based on your service address and local requirements.

If I change plans, will my charges be prorated?

Upgrades

Plan upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated based on the remaining time in your billing cycle.

Your renewal date will not change.

Downgrades

Plan downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

Downgrades are not prorated and no partial refunds are provided. You can make plan changes directly in the Helium Mobile app.
